Two men with identical qualifications were competing for the same job. In order to decide which man would be hired, both men were brought in and a test of 75 questions was administered.
After grading the test, it was announced that even though both men missed the same question, one man was definitely more qualified than the other.
“How can that be?!” demanded the man who was not hired. “We both only missed one question!”
“True,” said the employer. “Grades were not based upon the correct answers, but rather on the answer to the question you both missed.”
Clearly upset, the rejected man stomped his foot and shouted, “How can one incorrect answer possibly be better than another?!”
“Simple,” said the manager. “Your counterpart answered the question with, ‘I don’t know.’ You answered with, ‘Neither do I.'”
